I just bought a Specialized Sirrus Sport disc as I often ride around town and some of the trails. From the reviews online, it seems like the Sirrus is almost a road bike but with straight bars. For the MS150, I was thinking of fitting it with either drop end bars or aero bars to get a better riding position and power. Would that be significantly helpful? or should I just go pure road bike. Because I still have time till I can switch my bikes from Bike Barn. My only concern is road bikes might not be as stable and comfortable for city riding.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be very helpful!

You're good Karthik ;-)
I'll prob be riding my mtb during the ride just for fun. I have seen people do it on unicycles and beach cruisers

Karthik,
To summarize what we talked about, your hybrid is an excellent choice for an all-around general use bicycle. In addition, it can have components and accessories easily added or swapped to make it even better for long-distance. Swapping higher-pressure tires will be one big help (reduce rolling resistance). Another is to add clipless (i.e. cleated) pedals you can snap into with cleated shoes (allows you to add upstroke force to your pedaling). Those are the biggest improvements you can make to your hybrid, and will basically make it equivalent to a road bike.
I think you're making the right choice in keeping the hyvrid. I hope to see it soon!
