Hi Everybody, We have cooked up the following weekend ride for this Saturday: When9:00 am, Saturday, 6 February 2016 WhereMeet and park at Lawrence Park. RouteFrom here we will ride north-west along White Oak Bayou for about 12 miles and then return. If anyone would like to continue riding, they can continue on to downtown and then along Buffalo Bayou and back. Cory and I will set up "stop and wait" points along the route so everybody can catch up periodically. Everyone is welcome to go on their own, but for those unsure of the area or route, we'll be sure not to leave anyone unattended for too long. WeatherThe weather forecast is still pretty far out, but it says Mostly cloudy with 10% change of rain, high in the low 60s (F). FoodAfter the ride, if anyone would like to join us for some food, there is a good hot dog place called Good Dog on Studewood St and 9th that we can go eat at afterward. It's easily accessible by bicycle from Lawrence Park as well. Other Otherwise, just bring your bikes, helmets, and any gear you want to try. If you need help fixing a bike or tuning it up, lets us know and we'll attempt to bring tools to do the job. Hope to see everyone there!

What a good ride! The weather was perfect after early-morning storms pushed through, leaving bright blue sky and just right temperatures for riding. We had a good group of 10 riders, and we managed not to lose anybody! Lawrence park was a little tricky to find nestled in the Heights, but it worked well enough as a parking lot. The trail was great, with the exception of a 50 foot piece that had yet to be paved. Hopefully they finish that up soon. I like this trail because it's central to Houston, is 100% dedicated bicycle trail, and can be extended as needed to make longer routes into downtown and along Buffalo Bayou, as needed. Plus there are a lot of good restaurants nearby. We'll definitely be doing this one again.
